Why I created The Charmed Life.

Lauren Shaver
Creator, The Charmed Life · Crystal Adjacent

I’ve always been fascinated by the way life speaks to us through patterns, symbols, and the little things we tend to overlook.

As a tarot reader, I’ve spent years helping people make sense of their experiences, relationships, and the stories they tell themselves.

And I’ve learned something along the way.

Sometimes all it takes is a different perspective to see something you’ve been looking at all along.

I wanted to create something that brought that experience into everyday life. Something playful, intuitive, and personal. Something that didn’t require a tarot deck, an appointment, or even a belief in anything mystical.

Just curiosity.

That’s how The Charmed Life was born.

Part oracle, part pattern recognition, and part invitation to pay attention, the app uses everyday symbols to help you explore what’s happening in your life, what might be shaping your perspective, and where you can go from here.

Because I don’t believe the magic lives in the symbols.

I believe the magic is in what you begin to notice.

Where I read

I read tarot and oracle cards under the name Crystal Adjacent: live on TikTok, at pop-ups, and on Sundays at Nazareth Center for the Arts in Pennsylvania. I also made a physical oracle deck, a charmcasting kit, and a book, The Messy Middle Map.
